Here's the report from second-place Dorian Godon's Netcompany INEOS team:
Dorian Godon claimed another second-place finish at the Giro d’Abruzzo, adding to yesterday’s result as a late solo attack held on for victory on stage three.
The Frenchman benefitted from strong work from his Netcompany INEOS teammates on the run-in, but there was no catching solo victor Filippo D’Aiuto (General Store – Essegibi – F.Lli Curia).

Godon won the sprint from the chasing group to cross the line two seconds behind the Italian, while Kevin Vauquelin also finished safely in the peloton to move up to sixth overall, 12 seconds behind race leader Alessandro Fancellu (MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort).
With 132km remaining, a flurry of attacks saw a six-rider breakaway establish itself at the front, building an advantage of up to four minutes.
As the race entered the final lap of the 25km circuit, two riders went clear from the breakaway, while behind, Netcompany INEOS continued to drive the pace at the front of the peloton.
D’Aiuto attacked again from the break with nine kilometres remaining, this time going clear alone. Milkias Maekele then stormed to the front of the chasing group and produced a huge turn in an attempt to close the gap.
Inside the final kilometre, the solo rider still held a 10-second advantage. Despite the team’s efforts, the gap could not be closed, with Godon once again sprinting to second place from the bunch.

The last Belgian to have won Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen, Tim Merlier is ready to lead the team at the 110th edition of the Belgian race which usually comes down to a bunch sprint. One of the fastest riders in the world and a triple stage victor at this year’s Tour de France, the former European Champion will be supported by a strong Soudal Quick-Step team consisting of Ayco Bastiaens, Laurenz Rex, Bert Van Lerberghe, as well as three Devo riders: Joeri Schaper, Lars Vanden Heede, and Matijs Van Strijthem.

One day later, Flandrien 0.0 Classic - the new name of the Super 8 Classic - puts on the table a completely different parcours. Up and down the entire time and featuring numerous short hills that are sure to fragment the peloton, the 199.4km race finishing in Haacht could see a small group fighting for victory, but also a solo win is possible, as the finish line comes less than 20 kilometers from the top of the last climb.
For Saturday, Alberto Dainese - making his first outing since La Vuelta - Pascal Eenkhoorn, Viktor Soenens and Stan Van Tricht will join Merlier, Rex and Van Lerberghe at the start in Brakel.
“Koolskamp is a sprinters’ race and we have one of the best guys in the business, so Tim will naturally be our leader and we’ll do our best to have a mass gallop at the end of the day. In the second race we go with a team comprising several riders who can fight for a good result, on a more demanding parcours where some teams will try to drop the sprinters. We’ll see how things go there and how we need to adapt, but one thing that is certain is that we have a lot of motivation to be in the mix”, explained Soudal Quick-Step sports director Sep Vanmarcke.

World Championships individual time trial 2026: who is racing where and when?
The World Championships in Canada are approaching, with several Team Visma | Lease a Bike riders set to compete in the individual time trial for their national teams. Here’s an overview of who will race when.

More riders from the Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe structure than ever before have been selected by their national federations for the World Championships.
A total of 30 of the 51 riders from the WorldTeam as well as the U23 and junior Rookies will make the trip to Montreal – the largest World Championships contingent in the team’s history.
Representing 15 nations
From next Sunday, riders from the Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe structure will line up for 15 different nations. For one week, teammates during the season will become rivals as they represent their respective national teams. The squad is split almost evenly between WorldTour pros and development riders. Most notably, the entire grenke – Auto Eder junior team earned selection for the World Championships. Karl Herzog will ultimately be unable to compete due to injury.
Will the team claim its first time trial title?
Particular attention will be on Remco Evenepoel. The Belgian will look to defend his rainbow jersey in the individual time trial and become world champion in the discipline for the fourth consecutive year. Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe has never previously won an Elite World Championship time trial title.

At development level, Michiel Mouris was successful in the time trial last year. The reigning junior world champion will line up in the U23 category on Monday. Lorenzo Finn is also stepping up a category. The 2024 junior world champion and 2025 U23 world champion will compete in the Elite road race for the first time this year.
Proof of a successful season
“First and foremost, we are proud that so many of our athletes have been selected by their countries. It underlines their performances this season and, at the same time, shows the depth of talent across our entire structure. Having riders from the WorldTeam, the U23 ranks and almost our complete junior team represented at a World Championships confirms the path we have chosen,” says Zak Dempster, Chief of Sports at Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe.
All 30 riders will compete in the road races, with several of them also taking part in the time trial events.
