Weather at the finish city of Tours at 2:50 PM, local time: 11C (52F), partly sunny, with the wind from the north-northwest at 13 km/hr (8 mph). There is just a 1% chance of rain.

The race: Here's the report from second-place Martin Marcellusi's Team Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber.

A strong start to the French trip for Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber, who claimed a prestigious second place at La Roue Tourangelle with Martin Marcellusi, securing his first podium of the season.

After an initial phase marked by the breakaway of the day, the peloton caught the attackers before entering the final part of the race. The race was then decided on the Côte de Carmaux, where the high pace selected a small group of riders. Among them was Marcellusi, who did well to position himself among the best and stay in contention for victory until the final meters.

At the finish line in Tours, the Roman rider placed second, beaten only by Clément Venturini at the end of a reduced sprint that decided the race.

“I’m very satisfied with the result: the team worked well and I managed to stay with the best on the Côte de Carmaux. In the finale, I took second place in a reduced sprint—an important podium that gives me confidence for the next races.”
