The race: Here's the report from winner Jordi Meeus' Team Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe.

Jordi Meeus has won the inaugural Copenhagen Sprint, writing a new chapter in cycling. The one-day race made its debut directly on the WorldTour and Meeus is the first name on the winner’s list.

The race covered 235 flat kilometers from Roskilde to the center of Copenhagen. Designed with the sprinters in mind, the finale took place on a technically demanding city circuit featuring tight corners and fast sections that delivered plenty of excitement. Already during the Grand Départ of the 2022 Tour de France, the Danish capital had proven to be a perfect stage for racing – and once again, enthusiastic fans created an electrifying atmosphere.

In the final phase, the race reached a crucial moment: as the bell rang for the last lap, a crash on the finishing straight split the peloton and disrupted the chase. The last breakaway rider was only caught 600 meters from the line. Jordi Meeus kept a cool head amid the chaos, launched his sprint from a rearward position, and powered through the field with impressive top-end speed. In the end, the Belgian claimed a convincing victory with a full bike length to spare.
Only days after his stage win at the Tour de Suisse, Jordi Meeus has already secured his second WorldTour victory in quick succession.

Jordi Meeus after the race: "After six tough days of racing in Switzerland, I felt a bit tired, but I still had some power left in the legs. The breakaway group was pretty strong, and we knew it wouldn’t be easy to bring them back on the local circuit. But my team, together with a few others, did a great job. The final was extremely demanding and really hectic. Ideally, I would have been a few positions further up going into the last corner. But I also knew there was a headwind, and I hoped the sprint would open up — which it did perfectly. I still had a good kick, and I’m really happy I could take the win.”
