The race:

The Presidential Tour of Turkey is a professional stage race that has been run since 1963.

In 2012 winner Ivailo Gabrovski was declassified for an EPO positive. In 2013 the same thing happened to winner Mustafa Sayar.

UCI race ranking history:

  • 2002: made 2.5 race
  • 2005: reclassed as 2.2
  • 2008: made 2.1
  • 2010: upgraded to HC
  • 2017: Upgraded to World Tour
  • 2020: reclassed as 2.Pro

The GC leader wears a Turquoise-colored jersey.
