Fabian Cancellara couldn't seal the deal today, coming in 33 seconds behind Schumacher. But damn, that white and rainbow bike and kit look good.
Another quiet day at the office for Cadel Evans. He's done everything perfectly and is now the most highly placed of the real Tour contenders with over a minute lead on Valverde, Cunego and Andy Schleck and almost a minute on Menchov.
A single glorious day in yellow for Romain Feillu. After flogging yesterday's break for over 200 kilometers with every watt he had, he couldn't be expected to deliver a good time trial. He's now 3 minutes back in GC.
Mr. Schumacher certainly surprised everyone with a superb ride that catapulted him into the General Classifiction lead. His team is looking for a new sponsor for 2009 since Gerolsteiner is not going to re-up. Having the Yellow Jersey can't hurt the search.
