Ivan Basso warms up before the start of the time trial. He turned in an indifferent ride for a serious GC contender, 36th at 1min 43sec.
Tom Boonen's ride was good enough for 2nd in GC.
Basso takes a corner on wet roads.
Fabian Cancellara remains supreme in races against the clock.
Cadel Evans moved up to 6th place and is really the best-placed GC contender.
Alejandro Valverde also did well. He's only 2 seconds behind Evans on GC.
