Nicki Sorensen and Sylvain Calzati attacked their break companions with about 20 km to go and Sorensen went solo with less than 5 to go. He made it stick.
Laurent Lefevre leads the rest of the break across the line.
Cavendish win the field sprint. I think this answers the big question. Is Cavendish going for stage wins or the green jersey? I don't think he'd be wasting energy on a minor placing if he didn't want to wear green in Paris.
Leipheimer was caught in a crash near the finish (note torn shorts). Because he was within 3 kilometers of the end he got the same time as the pack. Evans was also delayed but lost no GC time.
Fortress Astana. Armstrong (black sox), Kloden and Contador finish together.
Another day in yellow for Nocentini. Tomorrow the race goes into the Vosges. I'll bet he turns himself inside out and keeps the lead until Sunday, stage 15. He really is a good journeyman pro.
