Story of the Tour de France

2009 Tour de France
July 4 - July 26, 2009

Pictures from Fotoreporter Sirotti: Stage 3, Monday, July 6: Marseille - La Grande Motte, 196.5 km

Cavendish and Cancellara before the start.
Columbia played this stage to perfection. They split the peloton with 30 km to go. Here Cavendish (green) and Hushovd (white) have a drag race for the line.
Hushovd can't get by the speedy Columbia rider.
So it's 2 in a row for Cavendish.
Cancellara is between Cavendish and Hushovd. He looks a bit gassed after the sprint. That was good heads up riding by both Cancellara and Armstrong who made the split.
