Story of the Tour de France

2009 Tour de France
July 4 - July 26, 2009

Lance Armstrong turned in a very creditable 10th place.
The big question mark sitting beside Andy Schleck is his time trialing. His performance today (18th @ 1min) was good enough to say he's got a real shot at this.
Alberto Contador laid down the law today by being the first of all the serious contenders.
But Cadel Evans was only 1 second slower than Contador. I call that a tie.
Levi Leipheimer gets ready to launch himself down the road.
Is Denis Menchov still tired from the Giro or was the technical course not to his liking? In either case, he lost over a minute to Contador and Evans.
Carlos Sastre will stay quiet until the moutains.
Christian Vande Velde turned in a good, solid ride, coming in 17th, at 57sec.
When he's on his game, no one can out time-trial Fabian Cancellara.
