The Race: Four riders got away today: Salvatore Puccio (Sky), Bjorn Thurau (Europcar), Pawel Franczak (Poland) and Mateusz Taciak (CCC Polsat). They were kept on a short choke-collar, never being allowed much more than a three-minute gap.

The roads were dry today, and despite a lot of road furniture and and inflatable banner that collapsed by the side of the road, the peloton completed the stage with most of its skin intact.

The pace was blistering, and though the break quartet worked well together and was made of four, good, strong boys, they were caught with a little more than seven kilometers to go. Belkin tried to rule the peloton and spent a lot of watts keeping things together at the front. But in the final meters, they seems to have run out of gas a ceded control to Giant-Shimano.

It didn't matter. Belkin rider Theo Bos stormed past such quality speedsters and Sacha Modolo and Michael Matthews to give Belkin a clean stage win.

Petr Vakoc finished in the front group to preserve his GC lead.

Stage Three Live Updates:

25 km to go: A break of four are up the raod with 50 seconds in hand. Break is Salvatore Puccio, Bjorn Thurau, Pawel Franczak and Mateusz Taciak. Tailwind, pack is going 56 km/hr.

18 km to go: Gap is down to 19 seconds. Streets are dry, looks like nice weather.

17 km to go: Belkin is leading the peloton. The break so far is working well together and haven't started attacking each other.

14 km to go: Gap is 21 seconds. As each rider in the break pulls off, he looks back to the peloton. Belkin is still pulling the pack. Working for Theo Bos? They are in the final circuit. Some of the corners look dangerous.

7 km to go: An inflatable sign was in the road, but no one ran into it. Speed is 57 km/hr. Astana has added some horsepower to the chase. Break must have been caught when the camera was away.

4 km to go: Garmin-Sharp is doing the pack's pacesetting. 63 km/hr!

2 km to go: Belkin seems to have run out of gas. It's Lotto at the front.

The finish: Giant-Shimano took over the final meters, Michael Matthews leading, Sacha Modolo on his wheel, but Theo Bos (Belkin) punched his way to the front, making up a lot of ground, and won the sprint.
