| Leipheimer crashed midway through the stage and needed a new bike. He was soon back in the pack and lost no time today. | |||

| For the most part, the peloton stayed together today. | |||

| Armstrong led most of the way down the Turchino with a scary-fast descent. Garzelli, Leipheimer (I think), Boasson Hagen, Basso and Di Luca are right there with him. | |||

| Columbia did a perfect lead-out for Cavendish.Tyler Farrar (Garmin) is just a little behind at this point. | |||

| A few meters down the road Farrar hasn't lost too much ground to Cavendish. | |||

| But you can't win a race losing only a little ground. Cavendish was the fastest man today. | |||
