The European Cyclocross Championships are held in November, near the beginning of the cross season.
The race has been held for since 2003 for Elite and Under-23 women as well as Junior and Under-23 men.
Races for Women Under 23 started in 2013.
It has been only since 2015 that an Elite Men's race has been held.
In 2019 Women Juniors were added.
The reigning champion gets to wear a special jersey at cyclocross races for the year he/she is champion.
