Story of the Tour de France

Liège- Bastogne - Liège
Sunday, April 25, 2004

World Cup Round 5, 259 km. Belgium.

Danilo Di Luca (Saeco), who has come so close to a win this classics season, did not start. He has a fever.

Boogerd attacked near the top of the Saint Nicolas with about 5 kilometers to go and was caught by Vinkourov and Rebellin. That was the race. Rebellin easily won the sprint, again coming around Boogerd. What a week for Rebellin with wins in the Amstel Gold, Flèche Wallone. and now Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Maybe no one has won 3 classics in a row before.
